Bangladesh Prime Minister in PRESIDENT HOTEL

Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, on January 14-16, 2013, paid an official visit to the Russian Federation. PRESIDENT HOTEL was selected as a residence for the Bangladesh delegation. Prime Minister was accommodated in the Presidential suite of the Hotel and her entourage occupied 47 rooms of different categories.

The agenda for the negotiations with the Russian leaders included bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, military-technical cooperation, carrying out big bilateral projects in such areas as energy. Following the talks, a package of important documents was signed in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Sheikh Hasina.

As a result, Russia granted a $1 billion loan to Bangladesh for arms purchases because both countries, said President Vladimir Putin, intend to broaden military-technical cooperation. Besides, Russia will provide a separate $500 million loan to Bangladesh to help build its first nuclear plant. Russia will not only provide the most up-to-date technology but will also provide financial support for the construction of the nuclear power plant at the initial stage.

Vladimir Putin and Sheikh Hasina issued a joint statement on the official visit of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh to Russia and made statements to the press.
