Chinese Premier in PRESIDENT HOTEL

      At the invitation of the Government of the Russian Federation Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Wen Jiabao on 22-24 November 2010 paid an official visit to Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow). In line with the existing tradition in Moscow he decided to be accommodated in the Presidential Suite of the PRESIDENT HOTEL. Besides this delegation two more Chinese delegations were received and accommodated there: delegation headed by Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC Wang Qishan  to participate in the 15th Meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission on the preparation of  regular meetings of heads of state and delegation headed by a Member of the State Council of the PRC Liu Yandong to attended the 11th Meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission on Humanitarian Cooperation. Both delegations supported the activity of the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao’s delegation and participated in its events. Chinese guests  occupied about 150 rooms and suites.

     In the course of the visit Chinese Premier met with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Premier Vladimir Putin and other RF officials for business negotiations. A total of 16 documents on political, economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian cooperation were signed. Economic cooperation, energy was the main item of the visit’s agenda. China was eager to secure long-term oil and gas supplies from Russia and pricing negotiation was an important part of business talks.
