Chinese President Hu Jintao Attanded Victory Day Celebrations
On May 8-9, 2010, President of China Hu Jintao at the invitation of the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev paid a visit to Moscow to participate in official events to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great patriotic war as well as WWII and defeat of Nazi Germany. PRESIDENT HOTEL, as always, was chosen as President Hu Jintao’s residence and 140 rooms and suites, including the Presidential suite, accommodated the impressive Chinese delegation creating comfortable conditions for its functioning.
Chinese President Hu Jintao attended Military parade and other festivities and held talks with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and President Dmitry Medvedev. During meeting with Vladimir Putin which included private one-on-one negotiation some substantive questions were discussed. Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin, who is responsible for energy affairs and often deals with arms sales, was present for parts of the talks. At the talks with President Dmitry Medvedev Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Security Council Head Nikolai Patrushev were present. Before the visit, Chinese Foreign Ministry said situation around Iran would be on the agenda during the Moscow talks.
