High-Level Delegation of People’s Republic of Ghina in PRESIDENT HOTEL
Deputy Chairman (Vice President) of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on March 22-24, 2010, was on a visit to Moscow as a guest of the Russian government and together with his entourage was accommodated at the PRESIDENT HOTEL.
The program of his visit was very intensive and included meeting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on March 23, 2010 and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on March 24, 2010.
At their meeting, discussing problems of mutual interest Vice President Xi Jinping and Premier Vladimir Putin agreed that Russia and China should help each other increase their weight in global affairs. Xi Jinping said that Russia and China must become strategic props for each other in the future on all questions which have a strategic interest for Russia. Vladimir Putin reiterated that Russia always supported China on the most sensitive questions, including on the problem of Taiwan.
Receiving Vice President Xi Jinping at Barvikha President Dmitry Medvedev highly appreciated relations between Russia and China as good and relations of strategic partnership and interaction. He mentioned that our countries’ leaders also have established friendly regular contacts between them. For example, last year, he met five times with President Xi Jintao.
Vice president Xi Jinping is seen as the frontrunner to succeed President Hu Jintao in 2113. Analysts say the visit to Russia was aimed at acquainting Russia’s leaders with a potential successor to Hu Jintao. It was a very serious visit to introduce the man who could be the next ruler of China.
