Meeting of Intergovernmental Russian-Japanese Commission on Cooperation in PRESIDENT-HOTEL
The ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Japanese commission on trade and economic questions (hereinafter – Commission) was held on 11 February 2011 in PRESIDENT HOTEL. The event took place in the ROUND HALL of the hotel, the best in tirms of design and advanced technical equipment used to conduct functions of the highest level like summits and other meetings of heads of state and government.
Russian delegation participating in the meeting of the Commission was headed by Victor Christenko, Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. Japanese delegation was headed by Seiji Maеhara, Japanese Foreign Minister.
Commission considered cooperation of the countries on priority projects and state of their realization as well as measures to be taken by the governments in this connection. It also signed the Resulting Memorandum of the ninth meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Japanese commission.
Within the framework of the program of his visit Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara had talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and participated in a joint news conference. He also met Sergei Naryshkin, Head of the Presidential Administration. Both meetings showed the cardinal disagreement of the sides over the southern Kurils.
