Meeting of Union State Council of Ministers in PRESIDENT HOTEL

A regular meeting of the Council of  Ministers of the Russian-Belarusian Union State chaired by Prime Minister of  Russia Vladimir Putin with the participation of the Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky as the head of the Belarusian party, was held on October 28, 2009, in the PRESIDENT HOTEL. Before the beginning of this meeting prime ministers of  Russia and Belorussia discussed the most important issues of the Russian-Belarusian partnership separately.

The agenda of the meeting mainly dealt with economic issues. The parties considered such issues as the implementation of the joint Action plan aimed at the minimization of the global financial crisis impact, improvement of the payment balance parameters, conditions for business activities and mutual trade, budget of the Union State for 2010,  development of the bilateral trade-economic ties. The issues of the Union State’s foreign policy, defense potential and security attracted considerable attention of the meeting’s participants.

Summing up the results of the meeting, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin positively assessed the work on the whole and expressed a hope of continuing joint efforts in a business-like and constructive way as it used to be previously.
