Visit of the President of Equatorial Guinea to Moscow
President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Chairman of the African Union, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on June 6-9, 2011, paid an official visit to Moscow. He was accommodated in the Presidential Suite of the PRESIDENT HOTEL chosen as his residency. Presidential entourage occupied in the hotel 40 rooms of different categories.
The program of the visit of President of the Equatorial Guinea was oriented to discussions of broadening investment, scientific and technical cooperation between the Russian Federation and Equatorial Guinea and strengthening their partnership within the framework of the forum of the countries – exporters of natural gas.
President of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Оbiang Nguema Mbasogo was received by the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The presidents discussed the problems of mutual interest and witnessed the signing of several important documents. For example, Russian Gasprom Neft and GEPetrol, the national oil company of Equatorial Guinea signed a cooperation agreement. The document regulates the key aspects of cooperation within the limits of implementing PSAs (Product Sharing Agreement) signed in 2010 for geological prospecting of blocks T and U on the Equatorial Guinea shelf. According to preliminary estimates, reserves in the two blocks may total 110 million tones of oil equivalent. The deposit’s expected operation period is 30 years for oil and 35 years for gas.
