
Communist Leader of Vietnam in PRESIDENT HOTEL
At the invitation of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nong Duc Manh on July 8-12, 2010 was in the Russian Federation (Moscow and St. Petersburg) with an official visit. In Moscow the Vietnamese leader was accommodated in the Presidential suite of the PRESIDENT HOTEL selected by the Vietnamese leader as his residency.
Within the frame work of the visit’s program Nong Duc Manh envisaged high-level talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.He also met speakers of both chambers of Russian parliament and Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov.
Russian-Vietnamese negotiations were focused on expansion bilateral economic and political interaction, as well as energy cooperation. The sides planned to discuss the construction by the State Corporation Rosatom of the first nuclear power station in Vietnam which will begin operation by 2020. Several cooperation agreements in the oil and gas field were signed with the Zarubezhnfst Company. Bilateral trade relations, as well as, are also on the rise and there are plans to increase reciprocal trade volumes to three billion dollars in 2010.
